What is Partner Leveling?

Partner Levels, or Tiers, are different ranks within your partner program to recognize partner achievements and segment those partners based on specific requirements. By categorizing partners based on their performance, you can offer tailored benefits and incentives that align with their achievements and encourage them to reach higher levels within the program.

Metals and Maturity

Many partner programs use “metals” as a naming convention for different levels. For example:

  • Platinum
  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Bronze

Other businesses may use names that reflect skills and/or maturity, e.g. registered, advanced, specialized etc. Or they might incorporate points-based programs to provide more flexibility and granularity. A key detail here is also that the levels are intuitive not just for your internal teams, but for the partners themselves. Clear, familiar leveling categories minimize confusion and ensure partners can easily identify what level they qualify for.

The Benefits of Partner Levels or Tiers

Arranging partners into levels isn't purely an organizational exercise. There are a number of key benefits.

  1. Increase Partner Engagement
    • Levels are a fantastic motivator, leaning into the desire of partners achieving a higher status in the program and more recognition.
  2. Manage Multiple Partner Types
    • A one-size-fits-all approach can't be applied to your partners. Defining different partner types allows you to cater more effectively with your partners and drive activity in a transparent and manageable manner.
  3. Clear Prioritization
    • This allows your to identify who are the higher performers, and as a result, who best to provide with increased resources and support to drive higher results.
